Bray Library set to reopen next Tuesday
BRAY Library on Eglinton Road will re-open on Tuesday, November 1 at 10 a.m. and everyone is invited to its re-launch.
Refreshments will be served at the official launch, to be held on opening day at 10 a.m.
The library was closed for the month of October while major renovations were carried out. The upgrade on target, according to county librarian Brendan Martin. The upgraded facilities include new furniture and shelving. These works come as part of a county plan for libraries across Wicklow. The Library Development Plan for Wicklow, 2016-2020, includes new libraries for Wicklow Town, Rathdrum and Aughrim. The mobile library van will be replaced.
Additional opening hours for Greystones and Ballywaltrim branches and the resumption of the local studies programme have already been established. The opening hours in the Blessington and Bray branches have been extended.
The plan also includes provision to extend Wi-Fi to every library; an increase to the annual book fund; and one single national membership for universal access to all public libraries and online library services throughout the country.
Online services including e-books and downloadable audio books are now available free of charge as well as online databases and newspapers from around the world.
