Charitable Molly chosen as Bray Lions Club Young Ambassador
MOLLY Comish, a student at Loreto School, Bray, has been chosen as Bray Lions Club Young Ambassador 2017 and will now represent the club in the annual international competition in the UK.
Molly, who lives at Church Terrace in the town, has been a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House adjacent to Crumlin Hospital and has helped Spanish students learn English during residential courses in Spain. She is active in junior musicals and has recorded songs in a local studio.
Molly impressed the judges with her project to create ‘Dignity Packs’ which she plans to distribute to homeless people in the Bray area. She was chosen from among five candidates, each of whom demonstrated involvement in community projects and excelled in communications, sporting and academic achievements.
She was presented with a ‘Bray Young Ambassador’ plaque by adjudi- cators Jerry Teehan, president of Bray Lions Club, project leader Frank Corr and Bray Lions secretary Joe Codyre.
The Lions European Young Ambassador programme rewards young people who are making a contribution to their local community through voluntary work, sporting activity or good citizenship.
Prizes and bursaries are awarded to winners and Bray Lions Club will sponsor its candidate throughout the competition.
