TRANSITION YEAR

Wicklow Gaol and Bray Aquarium On Thursday, October 13, TY students travelled to Wicklow where a lady dressed as a maid let them into the main hall in the jail. They found some things very scary, specifically being locked in the cells by their peers. Overall, between the dungeons and the bleak grounds, it was quite a depressing place.

In Bray, a guide named Linda led them through the aquarium. The ocean tank introduced them to several different fish, including a circling shark. The sea horses were firm favourites as was the octopus. The jellyfish fascinated some students who learned that it has the brain of a three-year-old.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Both teams took the field against Dunlavin on Thursday, October 20. In the senior game, despite valiant play by the Mescall brothers resulting in BCC’s only score from Sean, Dunlavin emerged the victors, 4-1. Our Junior team also tried to be victorious but were foiled on the day to lose 0-1. Well done to the boys for representing the school so well.

OPEN NIGHT

On Wednesday, October 26, the college’s Open Night takes place. All are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Our teachers will be present to answer questions and give an overview of what we do. They will be ably assisted by students, especially our College Prefects who will lead guided tours. We look forward to meeting our potential students and their parents.
