GAA CLUB NOTES

Our junior magpie’s nursery has now finished and the lads are taking a well-deserved break, we will be moving into the sports hall of the community centre around the middle of November. Dates will be confirmed on Facebook and in the paper.

Well done and thanks to all who completed the LGFA fundamentals course last Saturday in the clubhouse.

Hard luck to Marty, Noel (the boxer) and the under-16s who played St Nicholas in the A shield final last Friday, the lads played well but were beaten on the night by a better team. Well done to Cian Walsh who won man of the match in the final and finally thanks to all involved with the team who played at the top level all year and had some great wins over the season. Here’s to next season

Our juvenile presentation is taking place on Saturday, November 26, at 4 p.m. in the community centre and everybody is invited to attend. Our juvenile AGM is on Wednesday, November 30, at 8 p.m. and our senior AGM is fixed for Wednesday, December 7, at 7.30 p.m.

If you want that special magpie tracksuit or jersey before Christmas then we will be placing a large order soon with our suppliers. The last date for Christmas orders is November 12 and we cannot guarantee that orders placed after that date will arrive before Christmas.

We are having an end of year social night next Saturday in the Druids Well pub, so why not come along to what should be a great night.

There is a good stock of club gear now available to buy for any enquiries regarding club gear please contact Ruth at 087 7472682.

Tickets are now available for the national club draw, some great prizes on offer. First prize is a car and all money raised by the club through the sale of tickets goes to the club, so why not buy a ticket, support the club and maybe win a fantastic prize. Tickets available from all committee members.

Also if you have a spare €2 why not buy a ticket for the club lotto for a chance to win a nice jackpot of €3,200 in the run up to Christmas. Last week’s numbers were 9, 12, 15 and 19 and there were seven match-three winners who received €30 each.

Deepest sympathies to the extended family and friends of Liam Fitzgerald who passed away recently, may he rest in peace
