Carols in Calary

-

The Calary Candlelight Carol Service will take place in the church at 7.30 p.m. tonight (Wednesday the 21st) which will be followed by refreshments in the church room. The parishioners would be delighted to welcome all their neighbours and friends to this wonderful event and everyone in Calary Church would like to wish you all a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

Soccer club news the seniors travelled to Arklow United to play their last league game of 2016 and played very well in a 4-1 victory. They trailed 1-0 but Sam Kerr equalised just before the break. Sam added a second after the restart before James Delahunty and Josh O’Callaghan added further goals. Luke O’Callaghan, and Sam Kerr were best on the day in a very good team performance.

There was no junior action last week but the Christmas party took place in the Community Hall on Sunday. Paul Prendergast was once again to the fore in organising this wonderful event so close to Christmas along with the man- agers and volunteers and the kids had a wonderful time. A big thanks also to Santa for coming along to see all the clubs little Superstars but judging by his waist line, the kids were asked to leave out the Sugar Free Mince Pies this year as that red suit was pushed to capacity.

Everyone at Glencormac United would like to thank the community for all the wonderful support they received this year both in fundraising and sponsorship of the junior teams and the chairman Christy Devlin and his team of volunteers would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and remind Santa not to let all the wonderful little superstars in the club down or ‘The chairman’ will be in the car heading for the North Pole to tell him off (and sell him and Mrs Claus a few tickets).
