SWIMAMILE

Our minor squad enjoyed their first day out in the Leinster minor league away to Loreto, Bray on Thursday, December 1. In the run up to the game all members of the panel showed great interest and dedication in training. Our new first years have been a great addition to the panel and are working very well with the second years. The game was played in Newtownountkennedy against a strong Bray team. Both teams fought very hard and demonstrated some great talent. It was a very close game throughout and a great game to watch. The final result was 1-1 with Lucy McAnaspie scoring for St Mary’s early in the first half. Well done to all.

Our Senior under-19 panel had their first Leinster league outing at home to St Kilian’s, Bray. This group has proven in the past that on a good day they can compete with the best playing an attractive brand of football. The panel is full of very talented players, and on the day we were especially grateful to Shannon Hughes of the under-15 panel who stepped up at the last minute, due to unavailability of some players. St Mary’s showed their talent by dominating the game and winning by an amazing 12-0. Player of the match was Abbie Molloy who scored an amazing 10 goals. Also on the score sheet were Amy Guilfoyle and Chloe O’Reilly. Well done to all those involved. We look forward to the next round.
