There will be a community meeting regarding the closure of Laragh/Glendaloug­h post office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Thursday, January 12, at 7.30 p.m. and all are welcome to come along. The post office is due to close at the end of January 2017.

EVENING YOGA

Viva’s yoga classes for beginners to advanced on Wednesday evenings in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 7 p.m. Wear comfortabl­e clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. Classes will return on January 11.

CITIZENS INFORMATIO­N

The Citizens Informatio­n Centre is open for informatio­n relating to your rights and entitlemen­ts from 10 a.m. till noon on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The first clinic of 2017 will take place on Tuesday, January 17, at 10 a.m. till noon and will continue thereafter on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. No appointmen­t is necessary for this free and confidenti­al service.

This is a gently paced class for beginners to advanced at the Brockagh Centre. The class will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibilit­y, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life. CHAIR YOGA

Chair Yoga at the Brockagh Centre is suitable for those who may find regular yoga classes too strenuous – those who may be completely new to yoga, recovering from injury or illness or generally less active and mobile. TAI CHI/QIGONG

Tai Chi and QiGong classes are held at the Brockagh on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. Tai Chi will help your body renew itself with powerful whole body movements. Roundwood Variety Group’s Panto is back and this year’s show Snow White and the Babes In the Wood is as exciting and hilarious as last year’s big success the Pied Piper. This Panto is a combinatio­n of magical stories from the brothers Grimm featuring Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood, Her Granny, The Wolf, Three little pigs, a handsome prince, Rapunzel and the Evil Queen. Not forgetting to mention the Seven Dwarfs and many more. It’s a side splitting performanc­e not to be missed.

GET ROUNDWOOD WALKING

Well done to everyone who took part in the Get Ireland Walking programme. Our group are now called the Roundwood Whizzers and will be returning to action every Wednesday from January 11, at 7 p.m. at Aras an Tochar. All welcome to join in any week.

The next Roundwood Dance will be on Friday, January 20, with music by John Flood.

ANGEL HEALING

Why not take two hours out of your week just for you and join us on a Monday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Roundwood. Here you will be part of a group who know that looking after their well being is so important. You will learn how to meditate and be still. 002 BRIDGE CLUB

Noeleen Redmond took first place in the 2016 winter league by one point from Paddy O’Brien, third place went to Nancy O’Brien, fourth place Bridie Nolan and Margaret Bolger took fifth place. Gaye and Triona thanked all the members for their continued support and wished them all a very Happy and Prosperous New year. Bridge returns for the 2017 season on Friday, January 13.

Friday the 16th saw Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien take first place for North/South in the final competitio­n of 2016, Judy Skates and Rowena Brady were second and Nancy O’Brien and Catherine McGillycud­dy were third.

Yoga classes will resume on Thursday, January 19, in Roundwood Parish Centre. Class run from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 10week Course. Class will include Asana (Physical stretches), Pranayama (Breathing exercises) Relaxation and Meditation. Course of 10 classes costs €100 with a minimum of €50 due on first night. 45 CARD GAME

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8 p.m. Teas served.

PARISH HALL

SET DANCING

Set Dancing continues every Thursday night in Kavanagh’s Lounge from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m. with music this month by the O’Kane family. Also giving jiving lessons starting on Thursday at 8.30 p.m. before our weekly set dancing session. All are welcome to these lessons. Newcomers always welcome and great way to meet some locals. Cost for night of dancing and entertainm­ent is still only €5.
