Congratulations to Hyrum Scott, Lucy Shortt and Sophie Heaton, who are now through to the third round of the Wicklow Debates. They put in an excellent performance last Thursday to secure another win for the school. Well done.

CROSS COUNTRY

Well done to the students who represented the school exceptionally well last week at the East Leinster Schools Cross Country event. Congratulations to Troy Scully and Eve Leacy, who were place fourth and third in their respective races and thus comfortably qualifying for the Leinster competition.

SENIOR BOYS GAELIC

Unfortunately, the Senior Boys Gaelic Football team bowed out of the Leinster Competition on Monday last after being defeated by Coláiste Eoin Hacketstown on a scoreline of 5-15 to 3-13. It was a tight affair throughout, and while it looked like CCA had the upper hand coming into the last 15 minutes, Hacketstown managed to finish the stronger of the two teams and scored some vital goals. CCA will now concentrate on the Wicklow Senior schools competition.

SPONSORED CYCLE

The school is currently organising a sponsored cycle which will take place on Friday, April 28. The 50km cycle will see teachers and students leaving from Kilcoole and going as far north as Kilmacanogue and as far south as Rathnew before returning to the school.
