‘BRAY.IE’ HAS WON ‘Best Con­nected Com­mu­nity’ in the 2017 Com­mu­nity and Coun­cil Awards.

The awards recog­nise and cel­e­brate com­mu­nity and coun­cils work­ing to­gether. The awards which are pre­sented by IPB In­surance and LAMA took place at the Crown Plaza Ho­tel in Dublin last Satur­day.

‘It’s an honour and priv­i­lege to re­ceive this award,’ said Dis­trict Ad­min­is­tra­tor David Forde. ‘For Bray.ie to be recog­nised like this is a true tes­ta­ment to our hard work. It shows that our on­line com­mu­nity en­gage­ment is hav­ing a real im­pact.‘ The Bray.ie team have worked hard over the past 12 months to pro­duce ef­fec­tive cam­paigns.

‘Our com­mu­nity en­gage­ment strat­egy is a team ef­fort but we would like to thank Paul Car­ney for his in­valu­able con­tri­bu­tion over the past num­ber of years. It’s a tes­ta­ment to his hard work and ded­i­ca­tion.

‘We look for­ward to in­creas­ing our con­nec­tions with the lo­cal com­mu­nity now and into the fu­ture.’

Bray.ie was launched back in 2011. It was part of the Bray Town’s Econ­omy Think Tank out­puts. BETT (Bray Eco­nomic Think Tank) was an eco­nomic fo­rum es­tab­lished in 2009. Its aim was to cre­ate a sense of lo­cal pride, com­mu­nity spirit and to pro­mote Bray as an ideal place to live, work and do busi­ness.

Since the new look bray.ie web­site was launched back in Fe­bru­ary 2015, it has had over 300,000 vis­its and close to a mil­lion page views.

Bray.ie’s to­tal so­cial en­gage­ment reach was over 1.53 mil­lion for the full year 2016. The ‘Best Con­nected Com­mu­nity’ award recog­nises the com­mu­nity that is con­nected to coun­cils, busi­nesses and each other, can ac­cess ser­vices eas­ily and quickly
