Free event for pet lovers this St Valentine’s Day

PET OWNERS can spoil and pamper their pets for free this St Valentine’s Day at Maxi Zoo.

The free ‘ True Friends’ event will take place from midday until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, with plenty to enjoy. ‘ There is nothing to compare to the devoted companions­hip that a pet can bring to your life,’ said Alice Cross, Executive Director of Maxi Zoo Ireland.

‘ This afternoon event is ideal for families looking for a meaningful way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year with their pet.’

The store’s pet experts will treat all pet dogs to a mini-brush and spruce, which includes a spritz of doggie-cologne.

There will be tips about pet care, nutrition and training. Children can learn how to make tasty cookies for their pet in the kids club.

There will be treats for dogs and free chocolate for customers. GREYSTONES Toastmaste­rs held an open night in the Glenview Hotel to showcase everything the organisati­on has to offer.

Four speakers featured on the night, including two long-term Toastmaste­rs members.

A ‘ Table Topics’ session was also held whereby members ability at impromptu speaking was put to the test, with four evaluation­s taking place as well.

This Thursday, February 9, Greystones Toastmaste­rs will be holding its ‘ Tall Tales’ competitio­n, which starts at 8 p.m. in the Glenview Hotel.

Anyone is allowed to attend Toastmaste­rs meetings for free as a guest of one of the members. Greystones Toastmaste­rs meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the Glenview at 8 p.m.. The club will also host the ‘ Tall Tales’ final on February 23, which will also feature clubs from Wicklow town and Bray.
