Pensioner hit by car in Ashford

A MAN in his seventies was struck by a car while crossing the road in Ashford and sustained two suspected broken legs.

Gardai are investigating the incident which took place on Sunday, January 5, at 8 p.m..

The local man was injured after he was hit by a car as he attempted to cross the road. He was brought to hospital by ambulance after the accident where he is still recuperating .

He sustained a number of injuries, including two broken legs.

Gardaí are looking for any witnesses to the accident to come forward and contact Ashford Garda Station at 0404 49220.
