KILTEGAN

-

Our club unveiled a plaque on the hurling wall in our club grounds in honour of the late Peter Keogh on Sunday morning. The plaque was unveiled by Club Chairman Damien Byrne and Danny Byrne, President of the club. Peter’s daughters Josie and Breda, sister Kathleen and other members of the Keogh family attended.

County Chairman Martin Coleman and other members of the County Board attended along with a large gathering from the local community including the boys and girls from the four local national schools; they played mini hurling games in his honour. Peter had a great interest in this game with the local schools.

This hurling wall on our club grounds was Peter’s idea back in 2006 as he travelled the country with words saying, “Your not a hurling club till you have a hurling wall.” And the club granted his wish back then.

Josie Keogh, on behalf of the family, thanked the club for their kind gesture and for their help and support over the past year. Rrefreshments were served by the local ladies and the club wish to thank everyone for their help and support on the day.

The first anniversary mass for the late Peter Keogh takes place in Talbotstown Church on Saturday, February 25, at 6pm.
