Out­reach clin­ics for the deaf and hard of hear­ing

TWO out­reach clin­ics are be­ing pro­vid­ing in County Wick­low twice a month for the deaf and hard of hear­ing.

The free drop-in ser­vice, which is be­ing pro­vided by Deaf­hear. ie, will take place at Wick­low Pri­mary Health­care Cen­tre on the Port Road at Knock­robin on the first Mon­day of ev­ery month from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and at Bray Health Cen­tre, lo­cated in Block B of the Civic Cen­tre on Main Street on the third Tues­day of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..

The clin­ics offer sup­port and in­for­ma­tion on all as­pects of deaf­ness and hear­ing loss in chil­dren and adults. Other ser­vices pro­vided in­clude in­for­ma­tion fact­sheets, tech­ni­cal aids, ben­e­fits and en­ti­tle­ments, fam­ily sup­port, in­for­ma­tion for par­ents and tin­ni­tus in­for­ma­tion. The free and con­fi­den­tial ser­vice is open to all.

The next drop-in clinic at Wick­low Pri­mary Health­care Cen­tre takes place on March 1. This ser­vice is be­ing pro­vided to fa­cil­i­tate peo­ple liv­ing in iso­lated or ru­ral ar­eas who oth­er­wise might not be able to ac­cess any of the Deaf­hear.ie re­source of­fices.
