PLOUGHING MATCH

Round­wood Ploughing So­ci­ety are hold­ing their an­nual ploughing match on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 25, at mid­day in Di­a­mond Hill, Round­wood (reser­voir fil­ter­ing beds). Sin­cere thanks to John Byrne for pro­vid­ing the site. Con­ven­tional, vin­tage, Clas­sic Trac­tor and Horse Classes will be catered for on Lea ground. Could all com­peti­tors please have their names reg­is­tered be­fore 6 p.m. on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 22, with Bren­dan Power at 087 2420204. Spec­ta­tors as al­ways are very wel­come and we have a chip van on site for the day.

MASS OF RE­MEM­BRANCE

The an­nual Mass of Re­mem­brance for parish­ioners and fam­ily mem­bers of parish­ioners, who died since March last year, and whose funerals took place out­side the parish, will take place next Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 25, at 6.30 p.m.

HIS­TOR­I­CAL AGM

The AGM of the Round­wood and District His­tor­i­cal and Folk­lore So­ci­ety will take place on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 28, in the Round­wood Parish Hall at 20.00. All mem­bers are in­vited to at­tend the AGM and to par­tic­i­pate in the elec­tion of Of­fi­cers of the so­ci­ety for the com­ing year.

PANCAKE/COF­FEE MORN­ING

SATUR­DAY WALK

Join in with this month’s Satur­day walk on Fe­bru­ary 25 which will take in the Up­per Vartry Reser­voir Walk meet­ing at Round­wood Parish Hall at 9.45 p.m. The route is less than 10km, rel­a­tively flat which all can walk at their own pace.

ATH­LET­ICS CLUB

Monica Brady was with­out her reg­u­lar part­ner June on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 17, but still man­aged to se­cure first place for North/ South with John Loscher, sec­ond Alice Chad­wick and Gayle Wel­don, third Kitty Hes­lin and Miriam Coyle, and fourth Judy Skates and Rowena Brady. Noeleen Red­mond and Mar­garet Bol­ger took first place once again for East/West, sec­ond El­iz­a­beth Bel­ton and Phil Kenna, third Teresa Leahy and Mar­ian Davis and fourth Ger­tie Fee and Jane Cronin.

AN TOCHAR GAA

All Stars dinner dance in the Glen­view. Dinner served at 7.30 p.m. Sharp. Pre­sen­ta­tion of medals to Ju­nior C, and an­nount­ment of our Play­ers Player and All Stars Panel. Bus De­tails – Gerry O’Toole will have a coach leav­ing the com­plex for the Glen­view at 6.45 sharp. €5 one way. Re­turn jour­ney – There will be two mini buses leav­ing the Glen­view at 2.15 a.m. – €5. One bus will head to the vil­lage and the other will cover ru­ral ar­eas. The next Round­wood Dance will be on Fri­day, March 17, with music by the Wick­low Man re­vert­ing back to the old time of 9 p.m. mid­night.

AN­GEL HEAL­ING

Why not take two hours out of your week just for you and join us on a Mon­day evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Round­wood. Here you will be part of a group who know that look­ing af­ter their well be­ing is so im­por­tant. You will learn how to med­i­tate and be still. To con­nect to your An­gels and be sup­ported by the won­der­ful peo­ple who have at­tended this group in Round­wood for 13 years. SET DANC­ING

Round­wood set danc­ing con­tin­ues ev­ery Thurs­day night from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m. in Ka­vanagh’s Lounge, Round­wood. Music this month is CDs and we will have the O’Kane Fam­ily back play­ing for us again in March and then live music for the re­main­der of the year. Ad­mis­sion re­mains at €5. Be­gin­ners are al­ways wel­come along with any­one look­ing for a bit of ex­er­cise and a fun night out. We are also do­ing a bit of jiv­ing, waltz­ing and quick step be­fore our weekly ses­sions start­ing at 8.15 p.m. so any­one want­ing to give that a go, is more than wel­come. No ad­di­tional charge.
