On the death of Jim McCormack - It is with great sadness that the members of Bray Emmets GAA Club heard of the death of one of our past chairpersons, Jim Mc Cormack, RIP.

While Jim had been unwell for a short while, his untimely death was sudden. Jim was chairperson of Bray Emmets from 1996 and 1998. He was vice-chairperson in 1995 and from 1999 to 2001.

Jim also manager of many of our men’s football teams. He was also a selector with the county under 21 football team for a number of years.

About ten years ago, Jim went to live in Crumlin but he was soon back involved in the GAA with Ballinteer St John’s.

He successfully managed a number of teams and was hugely popular with all involved in the Ballinteer/St John’s club.

The McCormack family have been involved with our club over the years and Jim’s sister Anne Longmore is the driving force behind our ladies football section. To Jim’s partner Jacinta, his children Michael and Mairéad, and the whole McCormack family we extend our deepest sympathy. Liam McGraynor Tom Walsh Memorial Trophy - Our past club president was remembered for his huge contribution to Scór on Friday night last when the Tom Walsh Memorial Trophy was presented to the victorious Hollywood team that won the Scór Sinsear County Quiz.

Tom’s daughter Ciara presented the award to Lucy Mooney of Hollywood GAA. The club was represented at the presentation by current club President and life long friend of Tom’s Jackie Napier along with Frances Stephenson. Bray Emmets Club was delighted to sponsor the trophy which will ensure Tom’s memory will live on.
