Hollywood’s movie star pub Tutty’s goes on the market
An iconic west Wicklow pub is on the market for €485,000.
Tutty’s pub, which has retained its old world atmosphere and has been in the same family since the 1870s, has come on the market through Wicklow agents JP&M Doyle. The property, which stands on 1.6 acres, includes a four-bedroom home.
The renowned traditional two-storey pub boasts the bar, lounge, games room, toilets and the adjoining four-bed house as well as extensive out buildings and stores offering outstanding potential for development.
The business has been in the same family since the 1870s and is renowned far and wide for its traditional music nights and beautiful front bar, which has been used in many films including Dancing at Lughnasa, Michael Collins and many more.
The front bar was originally fitted in 1912 and it has re- mained the same since.
‘It’s being sold as a going concern’, said Paul Doyle of the selling agents, pointing out the development potential of the site which include several store rooms and outbuildings.
‘A new owner might consider investing in accommodation given the area, as it’s by a national park.’
With its pub licence alone worth around €60,000, Tutty’s could be snapped up by any number of commercially minded buyers but it may also be viewed by families as a home and business possibility.
