Minor Hurling - The Minor hurling team have been working away in Division 3 of the Dublin Minor league since the 19th February. With four rounds of the league completed the team have taken three victories against Roundtowers, St Peregrines and there most recent, a gutsy win in Silver Park v Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday last.

The only defeat came in a two point loss to Rialto Gaels in the first outing in February.

The current run is remarkble in that the team is primarily made up of first year minors born 2000 and 2001 with only one fully fledge second year minor on the panel.

Three rounds of matches remain with a visit by Thomas Davis at the end of this month, away to Naomh Olafs in May and the final game at home to St Brigids in July.

The panel: Ben Gorman, Ben Kearney, James Anders, Sean Mc Donagh, Darragh Rochford, David Maloney, Joe Phelan, Cian Lohan, Sid Hunt, Shane Slattery, Andrew Conway, Stephen Flynn, Ciaran Mc Kay, Andrew O’Brien, Rory Lambe, MacDara O Midheach, David Kennedy, Michael Timmons, Sam Kearney, Ronan Mc Mahon, Conor Hardiman, Tony Jackson, Donnchadh Griffin. Under-9 Girls Football Bray Emmets vs St Mark’s - The 2008 girls played in Summer like conditions against a well drilled St Mark’s in a hotly contested game. Bray started a bit slowly but a number of Mark attacks were stopped by the excellent Niamh, Megan and Siofra in the backline.

Aoebh made a fantastic save and bit by bit the girls settled. Ellen ran herself to a standstill in midfield with good support from Nancy and Rebecca.

The forward line of Eabha, Jorja and Ruby were dangerous and Emmets finished the first half on top.

With a few changes in position at half time as well as a well deserved rest, Bray started the second half at a great pace with Rebecca and Aoebh combining well for Nancy to take her scores.

Megan scored a massive point as well as keeping a tight rein on Mark’s danger player. Eabha and Siofra played their hearts out with Ruby finding her teammates with her excellent kick outs.

The backline of Ellen, Jorja and Niamh tackled like demons and won many frees and turnovers to set up many attacks.

This was a great game of football with all the skills on show. The girls after the game showed their singing skills to wish one of the parents a happy birthday, 21 apparently!

Under-15 Dublin Hurling League Division 4 - Bray Emmets 7-01, Lucan Sarsfields B 0-9 - An 8pm throw-in under lights in Old Conna on a dry cool evening was the setting for this tense 13-a-side game.

Lucan will wonder how 13 points separated the sides at the end as they were arguably faster, sharper and more cohesive throughout than a Bray side that were curiously flat on the night.

This Bray side are great battlers however and denied Lucan the goal that might have given them momentum, while for the second week in succession ran up an unlikely goal tally.

Brian was sharper than ever scoring 5-1, a fantastic return on what little ball he got and with Rory, and Rian who was excellent throughout, adding further goals, Lucan needed to goal to get into the game.

This wasn’t to be as the Bray backs with all bar the corner forwards channelling back to help out, denied them the opportunity. Special mention to Ben in goals who made a number of excellent saves and to Tadhg Allen and Aaron who repeatedly put their bodies on the line.

The absence of a number of key players due to illness was keenly felt, but full credit to the Bray team whose victory sees them top the table on points difference.

Special thanks to Luan and Oscar from the 2003 panel who stayed on after their own game to offer a subs option and played their part in this gritty win.

Team: Ben, Tadhg Allen, Aaron, Eoin, Dan F, Adam, Tadhg Mac, Peter, Jack, Zack, Rory, Cathal, Brian, Rian, Luan, Oscar H.

Under-15 Division 4 Dublin Hurling League - Ballyboden St. Enda’s B 1-08, Bray Emmets 12-01.

The under-15 hurlers began their Dublin League Campaign at a wet and windy Cherryfield.

Wisely opting to play with the strong wind in the first half, Bray had the ball in the Ballyboden net in the first moments as Brian reacted quickest. Conditions were difficult and Bray were sharper in all positions, but the outcome was decided beyond question by half time because of Emmets sharpness in front of goal, and the excellent work of the defence.

By the break Bray had scored an implausible 9 goals and 1 point, Brian with three and Jack, Ben, Sam, Cathal, Rory and Luan each adding one, while the defence concede a single score. In the second half, Ballyboden using the wind bombarded the Bray goal, but the defence aided by the mid field and half backs conceded only a single goal and Bray added further goals through Brian, Cathal and Sam. So it seems, goals do win games!

Team: Fionn, Tadhg Allen, Aaron, Eoin, Tadhg Mac Carthy, Adam, Zak, Sam, Peter, Jack, Ben, Cathal, Brian, Rory, Rian, Daniel M, Luan.
