Despite the bad weather on Sunday afternoon there was a very good turnout for the annual Joint Parishes outing in Powerscour­t Golf Club. Thanks to all who supported.

OSKARS

The Enniskerry Oscars had a packed house last Saturday to view the local talent. The night was full of laughter mostly coming from the Stars. The soccer and GAA clubs wish to thank all who made the night such a great success.

Daily Prayer and Open Church, midday to 5 p.m. each day: Powerscour­t Church has reopened for daily prayer. This year there will be two times of prayer, midday and 5 p.m. with the church being open between those times for quiet space and personal prayer.

Thursdays in Powerscour­t Church: 10 a.m.: Holy Communion and Prayer for the sick.

Sacrament of Reconcilia­tion – (Confession­s): St Mary’s – Enniskerry: Saturday after 10.15 a.m. Mass; Our Lady Queen of Peace, Putland Road, Bray – Saturday after 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Masses; Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray – Saturday after 10 a.m. Mass.

The Rosary: The Rosary is recited each morning (Monday to Saturday) at 10 a.m. (before Morning Mass and at 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room in St Mary’s on the first Monday of the month.

Baptisms: Baptisms are now held on the second Saturday of the month in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry, for parishione­rs only. Please arrange with parish office. Parishione­rs are asked to please give two weeks notice if you wish to book a baptism.

HISTORY SOCIETY

The Enniskerry History Society is on summer Recess with work on preparing the autumn programme currently under way.

In the meantime members of the Enniskerry History Society are invited to attend tomorrow (Thursday) nights 8 p.m. meeting of the Mount Merrion Historical Society in the Community Centre, North Avenue, Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin, at which Cormac Lowth will present his lecture ‘The Sinking of the Lusitania’ – all wel- come – admission €4/Students €2; to Saturdays Medal and Militaria Fair organised by the Medal Society of Ireland which takes place between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Knox Memorial Hall, Monkstown Village, Co. Dublin. All welcome – admission €4 visitors/€2 members; and to next Tuesday nights 8 p.m. meeting of the Genealogic­al Society of Ireland in the Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute, Cumberland Street, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, at which Mile Mulligan will speak on ‘The story of our DNA’ – all welcome.

ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours are as follow: Tuesday and Wednesday – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.;

Friday – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Book Club will be continuing and will meet on the last Wednesday of every month. New members to both the Library and Book Club are always very welcome. Please phone 01 2864339 for further informatio­n.

LOTTO

Kilcoole GAA weekly lotto draw takes place every Monday night with the jackpot increasing €200 per week till it’s won. Pick four numbers, match four to win or share in the jackpot, match three to win or share €200. Tickets on sale in Tesco and Centra every Saturday morning or daily from some outlets or any committee member.

Bingo is held on Monday nights in St Patrick’s Hall at 8 p.m. Everybody is welcome.
