Top hospitalit­y award for Rathdrum based holiday park

A Rathdrum holiday park has picked up a national hospitalit­y award.

River Valley Holiday Park was recently named as a finalist in the Best Caravan site category of the inaugural Irish Hospitalit­y Awards, and on Sunday, received the top award at a prize ceremony in Dublin.

The Rathdrum-based business beat off stiff competitio­n from 15 other holiday parks around the county to claim the trophy.

The awards celebrate the hard work of the best profession­als and businesses in the Irish hospitalit­y industry. Thousands of nomination­s were received from the Irish public over the past months and the full list with finalists was compiled.

‘We are so excited about winning the award. Thank you to all our customers who have supported us throughout the years,’ said Lorna Williams of River Valley Holiday Park.

Sister site Hidden Valley, also based in Rathdrum was also shortliste­d for the award and Lorna was joined by her mum Violet and brother Lloyd and sister-in-law Molly for the prizegivin­g.

Numerous prestigiou­s accolades will be awarded to the most deserving profession­als and establishm­ents in the industry, including categories such as Outdoor Venue of the Year, Boutique Hotel of the Year, Tourist Attraction of the Year and many others.
