TINAHELY Agricultur­al Show, the première show event of the season in County Wicklow takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 7 at Fairwood Park, Tinahely.

This will be 82nd annual show and the committee have been working throughout the year to produce the best one to date for the public to enjoy .

Early bird online tickets for the show are now available at a cost of €40 for a family ticket admitting two adults and three children and €10 for OAPs and students.

Sale prices will be offered until Wednesday, August 2. There is always a market atmosphere in the ‘Food from our Farms’ marquee, with free tastings. The craft exhibition keeps old and new skills alive to see and buy. Visit the quilt display, a wonderful array of colour and sewing, with life stories connected to the production of these handmade bed quilts. Animals have always been the mainstay of an agricultur­al show, with horses ,cattle, sheep, dogs and assorted pets. Vintage farm machinery and motor vehicles are always popular along with a large outdoor trade exhibition. Music has always been a part of Tinahely Show, this year with After Dark, Theresa and the Stars, Louise Morrissey, and topping the bill Derek Ryan. The Tinahely Show is an ideal family day out with something for all ages.
