Our very popular Presidents, Fintan Doyle and Bernie Hennessy hosted their respective prizes at the weekend.
The weather was beautiful, the course was in excellent condition. In a packed club house on Saturday and Sunday evening, both Presidents gave lovely speeches; complimented the course, thanked all the volunteers for their trojan work in the club, congratulated all the winners, thanked all members who played in the competition and gave special mention to Andrea, Gavin Suzanne and Treasa in the Bar.
There was a special presentation made to 14 years old Joseph Byrne who broke the course record with a 68 gross in the recent Spring Medal.

Annual Fundraising classic on Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th, and Sunday 25th.
The annual classic is a very important part of our golfing calendar for fundraising purposes through teams playing, tee box sponsorship and the Grand Raffle. Given the ongoing challenge in meeting the running costs of the club all members are encouraged to support the classic to raise important funds to ensure our club’s continued operation.
Golf Classic Format – 4 Person Shambles at €100 per team. Tee Box sponsorship: €50 each.
Members can participate in and support the event through any of the following options:
Entering a team of their own with three non members; Members to play on sponsored teams and to separately sponsor a Tee Box; Members to ask non members of Baltinglass GC to enter a team or sponsor a tee box; Members to provide corporate sponsorship or ask their employers to provide corporate sponsorship; Members, who are in a position to do so, to provide appropriate prizes. ‘Grand Raffle’: Grand prize of €1,000. Members are encouraged to support the raffle, an important additional fundraiser.
The club committee are asking each member to sell a book of 10 tickets of €5 each outside of the club to friends and family. The non golfing prize is designed to appeal to a wider range of people in our respective communities. Each book of tickets will be numbered and allocated on a member by member basis. Additional books of tickets will be available from the office.
Each member of the club committee will be responsible for collecting tickets from an allocated group of members.
Any tickets not sold must be returned to the club. The presentation of prizes and Grand Raffle will be held in conjunction with the Captain’s Prize night Saturday, July 29 at 8pm. We are delighted to invite you to attend this special evening in the club’s calendar of events.
