NEWTOWN JUNIORS FC

Saturday, July 1, is the date for our Presentation Day. All the Finals for our Mini World Cup will take place on this date and we will need a little bit of help. So if you are interested in football and can spare an hour or two every week leading up to finals day on July 1 to do maybe a bit of refereeing etc it would be greatly appreciated. It is open to girls and boys from five years upwards. Please note that all children will play on Finals day, and you never know the ever-popular ‘Tiny Tots’ game may make a comeback.

On the opening couple of days of the MWC over 150 goals were scored as over 100 boys and girls showed off their skills to the large crowds present. You can follow all the fixtures, results, teams etc on our Facebook page.

All our players are currently out and about with Sponsor Cards (where players can purchase club gear depending on how much money they collect). This is one of our main fundraisers so it would be great if we got loads of support, which to be fair we usually do. All Sponsored Cards are to be back with the committee on or before Thursday, June 22.

As part of our Presentation Day we will have loads of fun games, which will include ‘Bubble Football’ for all our teams from the season just finished. We will also be looking for the Penalty King, Accuracy King and the Top Bin King among other things on the day.

The WDSL Presentation Day will take place on Sunday, June 25, in the Grand Hotel in Wicklow town for all players from under-8s up to under-16s. The following are the times that presentations will be made to our teams/age groups: under-8s – 10 a.m.; under-9s – 10.30 a.m.; under-10s – 11 a.m.; under-11s – 11.30 a.m.; under-13s – 2 p.m.; under-15s – 3.15 p.m.

All players/coaches must be at the venue at least 15 minutes before their time slot. Please let your respective coach know if you’re unable to attend. Players attending should wear their club kit.

We have only one player from the club celebrating his birthday in the coming week and he is Eoghan Fox from the under-11s. Happy birthday Eoghan from everyone at Newtown Juniors FC.
