LAK­ERS has an­nounced that their an­nual Glen­dalough walk will be held on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14, this year.

To en­sure as many peo­ple as pos­si­ble can par­tic­i­pate, there will be three dif­fer­ent walks on of­fer with vary­ing lev­els of dif­fi­culty. All walks will com­mence from the Glen­dalough Up­per Lake Car Park.

Walk A is 9km medium to dif­fi­cult walk that will take ap­prox­i­mately three hours. There will be plenty of hill-walk­ing as walk­ers tackle The Spinc and so good walk­ing gear is re­quired. This walk will be­gin at noon and regis­tra­tion is at 11.30 a.m.

Walk B is of medium dif­fi­culty and will in­volve a 4km walk along the Grey Road and among wood­land. It will in­volve walk­ing up a slight in­cline and should take been 90 min­utes and two hours to com­plete. This walk will be­gin at 2 p.m. with regis­tra­tion at 1.30 p.m.

Walk C will be a very easy, flat walk along the Green Road. It is 1km in length, wheel­chair friendly and should take less than an hour to com­plete. It will start at 3 p.m. and regis­tra­tion is at 2.30 p.m.

Lak­ers is a com­mu­nity-based sports, so­cial and recre­ation club for peo­ple, aged five to 17, with an in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­ity. The funds raised from the walks will help the club to run its daily ser­vices for its 280 mem­bers.
