STETSON CELEBRATIONS

MONEYSTOWN Community Centre went country last Saturday night as over 250 people celebrated a barn dance and barbecue.

Guests arrived looking like something straight out of a western movie scene, complete with Stetsons, cowboy boots and neck-ties. There was food and a fully stocked bar for everyone who arrived, while braver souls could also try out their rodeo moves on a mechanical bucking bronco.

There was line-dancing a-plenty as a DJ entertained the masses with some country hits, followed by a performance by the Three Bobs and The Roamin Cadillacs.

The DJ then returned to ensure the dancing continued well into the early hours of the morning.

This was the fourth year in a row the barn dance and barbecue has taken place and it acts as a fundraiser for Moneystown Community Centre.

Trina Gorman let out a resounding ‘yeeehaaw’ prior to the event after winning three free tickets to attend the barn dance. John Fay won two free tickets.

The organisers would like to thank everyone who turned up on the night and all the volunteers who helped prepare the community centre for the occasion, making sure the premises looked as authentic as possible. Plans are already under way for next year.
