Historical Society’s busy programme for Heritage Week
Heritage Week takes place from August 19 to 27 and Bray Cualann Historical Society has announced its programme of events.
On Saturday, August 19, at 11.30 a.m., Jim Scannell will give a talk at Bray Library entitled ‘1917 in Bray, County Wicklow’.
On Wednesday, August 23, there will be a tour of Killarney Road, starting at 11 a.m. from Bray Town Hall.
On Thursday, August 24, at 11.30 a.m., Jim will give a talk at Ballywaltrim Library entitled ‘Bray, August 19 1942 to August 24 1942’.
On Saturday, August 26, there will be a tour of Killarney Road, starting at 3 p.m. from Bray Town Hall.
On Sunday, August 27 at 3 p.m., Brian White, will present an illustrated talk at Killruddery. ‘ Trains, planes, automobiles and family stories from Killruddery down the ages’.
The 40-minute talk will trace the Brabazon family and their associations with trains, planes and automobiles.
Brian will have other interesting tales of staff who worked in Killruddery.
As this talk is to celebrate Heritage Week it is free to all visitors.
There are a limited number of spaces so registration is necessary.
It includes free entry to the garden on the day for those registered for the talk, otherwise normal garden entrance will apply.
