THE FUREYS

The Fureys bring their show to town as part of a fundraiser for New­town­moun­tkennedy GAA Club. Tick­ets cost €25 and are avail­able from ho­tel re­cep­tion or any com­mit­tee mem­ber. Doors open 8 p.m. and for ju­niors do­ing the 6k is €5.

IR­ISH NIGHT AND SET DANC­ING

Richie Cullen is kick­ing off his Strictly for An Tochar fundrais­ing cam­paign with this Ir­ish night and set danc­ing. There will also be a raf­fle on the night. Ad­mis­sion is €5.

SPON­SORED BEARD SHAVE

De­spite the chill in the air now in the evenings, a string of vol­un­teers – in­clud­ing Rev Mairt Han­ley – have put their names for­ward for this fundrais­ing beard shave in aid of the Ch­er­nobyl Foun­da­tion of Ire­land. A raf­fle will be held on the night.

The great singer-song­writer Leonard Co­hen will be cel­e­brated at this spe­cial night in aid of Wick­low Can­cer Sup­port and Wick­low RNLI. Singers and mu­si­cians from around the county will per­form songs from Co­hen’s ex­ten­sive cat­a­logue, and ex­plain why. Learn about the flora and fauna around the Vartry Reser­voir walks dur­ing this fam­ily-friendly event fea­tur­ing guest speak­ers and re­fresh­ments af­ter­wards. This event is be­ing or­gan­ised by Va­lerie Hal­li­gan and Ka­rina Pierce as part of their fundrais­ing cam­paigns for Strictly An Tochar.

FUN DAY AND KICK FADA

Mem­bers and non-mem­bers are wel­come along to Bray Em­mets GAA Club for this day of cel­e­bra­tions, which will fea­ture the 18th an­nual All-Ire­land Kick Fada com­pe­ti­tion from 12.30 p.m. to 2 p.m. There will be lots of games, stalls and food stalls to keep young and old en­ter­tained. En­try is free.

HAIRSPRAY

The 10km and 5km dash from Car­low to Wick­low is back! Run­ners, jog­gers, walk­ers and strollers are in­vited to take on this flat run over the bor­der from Car­low to Wick­low. Reg­is­tra­tion takes place at St Joseph’s NS from 9.30 a.m.

GLENCREE PEACE WALK

To mark the In­ter­na­tional Day of Peace, a group will walk from Glen­cullen to Glencree while rais­ing funds to sup­port the peace-buid­ing ef­forts of Glen­creee Cen­tre for Peace and Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion. The walk cover a 10km stretch of the Wick­low Way, with a bus trans­fer at the end to the Glencree cen­tre for re­fresh­ments and drop-off back to Glen­cullen. ORIG­I­NAL GAR­DEN OF IRE­LAND RUN STATIC SHOW

Day two of this vin­tage week­end will see Bray Vin­tage Car Club host the show sec­tion in its home­town of Bray.
