NEW MASS TIMES

Parish of St Laurence O’Toole – Weekend change of Mass times. Started on Saturday, September 2, Mass times will be as follows – Roundwood: 6 p.m., Laragh: 7 p.m. And Rathdrum: 8 p.m. and from Sunday, September 3, Mass times will be as follows Laragh: 10.30 a.m., Clara Vale: 9 a.m., Greenane: 10.15 a.m., Rathdrum: 11.30 a.m., Moneystown: 10 a.m. and Roundwood 11.30.

YOGA

Yoga classes will resume in Roundwood Parish Centre on Thursday, September 14, 7.30P.M-9 p.m. Classes will include Asana-Physical stretches (flexibilit­y and strength), Pranayama-Breathing practices (energy flow) Yoga Nidra – Relaxation Meditation – Stillness Classes are open to all and cost €10 per class with a commitment of €50 due on first night. MASS OF THE ANGELS

Our annual Mass of the Angels Remembranc­e will be on Saturday, October 7, at 6 p.m. in Roundwood Church. This special Mass will be for the parents and families of babies who died before birth, at birth, or in infancy, and for those who died in early childhood, youth and young adulthood either in recent years or in the past. We extend a very warm welcome to all parents, families, relatives and friends who have suffered such a loss.

MATHS LESSONS

Rebecca Delamere will be running maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall. Classes will be available for first to sixth year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with. Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited. WALKING CLUB

The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action every Wednesday evening meeting at 7 p.m. at the Coach House car park. Everyone welcome to walk at your own pace for approximat­ely one hour in and around Roundwood village.

STRICTLY STYLE – Joanne Meagher is an Image Consultant and Personal Shopper, and has worked with many clients over the years to achieve the perfect workable wardrobe, as a Personal shopper Joanne has worked with Louise Kennedy, Brown Thomas and has dressed many famous celebritie­s over the years including Meryl Streep among others and as an Image consultant featured in Xpose and the Midday Show.

Her Strictly fundraiser is a raffle to win a five-hour Image Consultati­on with to include the following: two-hour wardrobe detox, refresh your wardrobe clear out what you not wearing and see what you need to make your wardrobe work for you and show you how to dress to suit your shape and three hours personal shopping at a destinatio­n of your choice.

Raffle tickets are €10 and your entry can be given directly to me at one Djouce Meadows, or Lorraine in the post office has kindly offered to take them also so just place your €10 in to an envelope with your name and telephone number on the outside.

CLOTHES BANK

Please note the list of suitable and UNSUITABLE items. Thank you for your support. We are looking for Clothes (incl School Uniforms), Shoes, Bed Sheets and Linen, Belts, Bags, Soft Toys. Please do not deposit duvets, pillows, rugs, soiled clothes or rubbish.

CAR BOOT

The car boot sale at Roundwood Parish Hall takes place on the second Sunday of every month. Set up is at 10, begins at 12. Booking is essential, indoor stalls available. For queries or to book contact Ben at 087 9627527.

VARTRY WALKS

The current path developmen­t and tree care works are being carried out under the forest service neighbourw­ood grant scheme in conjunctio­n with vartry waterworks and Roundwood and district community council. The tree care work is required to make some trees safe and to promote the developing understore­y trees in the interest of long term woodland developmen­t. 2018 TOUR

A three star Algarve Coast and Country trip will take place on February 27, 2018, for seven nights which will include visits to Silves, Lagos, Sagres and Faro. The cost will be €429 per person sharing. This will include breakfast and dinner in the Hotel Da Aldeia, Albufeira and day excur- sions and a one 10kg bag. MENS SHED

Men’s Shed: Just to remind you again, our Shed is located at Pat Carr’s place in Knockrahee­n and the members come together every Tuesday from 10 a.m. onwards. Behind every good man is a good woman so we ask you very special women out there to encourage the man or men in your life to go along to the Shed in Knockrahee­n. Transport will be arranged if this is a problem.

We take this opportunit­y to say a very special thanks to the very helpful young ladies from the Roundwood and District Community Council (RDCC) who helped us in the filling out of the applicatio­n forms and the successful securing of financial funding for the SHED in recent times. ROUNDWOOD DANCE

The next dance at Roundwood Parish Hall Takes place this Friday the 15th from 9 p.m., refreshmen­ts available on the night. Music by the Wicklow Man. .

45 CARD GAME

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8.30 p.m. Tea served.

SET DANCING

Roundwood set dancing continues every Thursday night from 9 p.m. till 11 p.m. in Kavanagh’s Lounge, Roundwood. Music this month with the O’Kane family. Admission remains at €5. Beginners are always welcome along with anyone looking for a bit of exercise and a fun night out.

MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market is open every Sunday from midday till 5 p.m. in the Parish Centre. Come for all your fresh bread, home baking, jams etc. There will also be pictures, home crafts, plants and more. We look forward to seeing you all. New members always welcome.

A pilgrimage to Medjugorje leaves on October 11 for a week. Cost €669 per person sharing. Single Room extra. €200 deposit secures place balance to be paid 12 weeks prior to departure.
