Motorcycli­st killed at N81 blackspot

A 49-year old Motorcycli­st who died after a collision in Blessingto­n has been named as Joseph Quinn.

The fatal crash took place on Tuesday night, September 19, on a dangerous stretch of the N81 known as The Lamb.

A number of accidents have occurred in the same area down through the years, including other fatalities.

Mr Quinn, who lived locally in Blessingto­n, was killed after his motorbike collided with a car just after 8.45 p.m..

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

His body was brought to Naas Hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Immediatel­y after the acci- dent, the N81 at Tinode was closed to traffic coming from both directions. Garda forensic collision investigat­ors also carried out an examinatio­n of the scene.

Mr Quinn was originally from Captain’s Avenue, Crumlin. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Mimi) and the son of Kevin and the late Joan. He is also survived by his brothers Michael and Seamus and his sisters Irene, Caroline and Siobhan. He also had a late brother Kevin. His reposing took place on Friday at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home. Crumlin Village.

A celebratio­n of his life took place on Saturday in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, followed by his cremation.
