CARNEW PLOUGHING MATCH ATTRACTS A LARGE CROWD
THERE was a great turnout at the annual Carnew Ploughing match last week.
Kevin McEvoy said there had been a great turnout across all classes with 38 people ploughing. There were 36 tractors and two horses ploughing.
‘ The competitors are clocking up points to qualify for the national ploughing championships. We were very lucky and had great weather. We moved sites on Friday because of rainfall but it was grand.’
Kevin thanked the landowners and everyone who helped out on the day. Afterwards there was refreshments in Colaiste Bhride.
