HALLOWEEN AT COOLATTIN

Don’t miss this unique and exciting community event taking place in Coolattin House on this weekend October 28 and 29. Children’s Tours – will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Dorothy has once again been swooped up by a Tornado (Ophelia) and has been transporte­d to Coolattin House. Come along and help Dorothy find her way back to Kansas.

Tour will include crafts, face painting and Punch and Judy show. Only €10 per person. Booking essential: 087 6985275. CAR BOOT SALE

Knockanann­a Tidy Towns will host the next car boot sale in the hall, in Knockanann­a on Saturday, October 28. The hall will be open at 8 a.m. so that people can setup their wares. A pitch costs €10. If you will need a table, please come early as tables are limited and it was very busy at the last sale. Remember, even if you do not want to buy or sell, join us for a cuppa and a chat. We hope to see you there.

COMMUNITY CARE ROAD SHOW

The Community Care Roadshow comes to Tinahely Community Hall on October 26 from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a series of talks by Wicklow County Coun- cil, Garda Síochána, Wicklow Fire Service, and the HSE This is then followed by a cuppa and a chat. TINAHELY WALKS

On Sunday, October 29, the walk will be at Mount Leinster (Grade B, 10km, four hours) meeting in Bunclody at 10 a.m. On Sunday, November 5, the walk will be at Crossbridg­e and Ballycumbe­r (Grade B, 12km, 3.5 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10 a.m. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

TABLE QUIZ

Coolboy GAA Juveniles are holding their annual presentati­on evening on Friday, October 27, 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. in the Little Moon Coolboy. It will be followed by a family table quiz at 7 p.m., which is open to everyone in the surroundin­g communitie­s near and far. Tables can consist of up to two adults and three children and cost €20.

Please come along and enjoy an evening of fun and put your general knowledge to the test. There will be fantastic prizes to be won. Details can be found on our Facebook page. REMEMBRANC­E MASS.

November is the month of all souls. During the month of November, we remember in a special way our beloved deceased family members, relatives and friends who have gone before us in faith.

The annual Remembranc­e Mass will take place in St Kevin’s Church, Kilaveney at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11.

If you have lost a loved one during during the last 12 months and whose funeral Mass was celebrated in St Kevin’s Church, your family is invited to this Remembranc­e Mass. Relatives are invited to light a candle in memory of their dearly departed loved one during the Mass. We will also remember Parishione­rs’ loved ones whose Funeral Mass took place elsewhere during the last 12 months.

All are warmly welcome to join in this Remembranc­e Mass to remember family, relatives and friends who have gone home to the Lord. Please give the name of your loved one and date of death to Fr Gahan PP or to a member of the Parish Pastoral Council so that a candle May be available to you during this special Mass. Please include your own name and contact details. Together as a community, we remember them in prayer. ‘Eternal Rest grant unto their souls O Lord’.

RECYCLING CENTRE – NOTE

We would like to remind users due to some confusion recently that we ARE NOT permitted to take any fridges, freezers, cookers, washing machines or driers. Apologies for any inconvenie­nce caused as the county Council does not permit us to do so.

We CAN accept clean, dry card/paper, some metals, some plastics (1-4) and light bulbs.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

If you are living with Depression/Anxiety or any other mental health issue, you May benefit from attending the Tinahely mental health support group. Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. upstairs in the library building in Tinahely. The cost is €5 per session including tea or coffee. DOGS

Dog owners. To those that walk their pets on leash, a big thank you. To those that don’t please be aware you are endangerin­g the future of the walks for the wider community. The Railway Walk and extension have a strict rule that dogs must be on leash and no dogs are permitted on any of the looped walks.
