FUNDRAISIN­G VARIETY CABARET

Come along to the Glendaloug­h Hotel on Friday, November 10, at 9 p.m. for a Variety Cabaret in aid of Laragh village defibrilla­tor. A great night out featuring Johnny Stafford and guests. Tickets can be purchased from the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh or Denis Carter with admission only €5.

HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT

Movie night at the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, on Friday, November 3. Featuring Casper, the friendly ghost and Goosebumps with a recommende­d age of 10 plus years. Starting at 6 p.m. And finishing at 8 p.m. with admission €3. A tuck shop will be open on the night. Funds will go to Elevation Dance competitio­n team.

GLENDALOUG­H CAR BOOT SALES

Our next shopping day is Sunday, November 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a Christmas Car Boot on Sunday, December 3. We will have our usual bargains this month along with home baking, gifts, home wares, clothes and some Christmas items. Vans must be booked in. OLDER PERSON’S COUNCIL SEMINAR 2017.

Celebratin­g 10 years on November 24 in the Glendaloug­h Hotel, registrati­on at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3 p.m. Registrati­on for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individual­s or groups. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

PILATES AT THE BROCKAGH

Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilates teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilita­tion, health and longevity. The duration of the class is seven weeks and will start at 9.15 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. And another class at and 10.15 to 11.15 a.m. in the Brockagh Resource Centre. TAE KWON-DO FOR YOUTHS AND ADULTS

Master Kenneth has a special offer for new students, one month free classes. Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Irish Dancing has started in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Classes are for beginners and are for age three years up. EVENING YOGA WITH VIVA

HIGH INTENSITY FITNESS DANCE

Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the

Brockagh Centre to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit, dance at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam at 083 3057949 for informatio­n.

GLENDALOUG­H-LARAGH ACTIVE RETIRMENT.

The Active Retirement group have been busy over the past few weeks. Their next lunch is November 7 in Glenmalure Lodge. Next week David and Francis from Aughrim Bowling Facility will be attending the Brockagh Centre for a bowling session. Older Peoples Network Seminar will be held is in Glendaloug­h Hotel on November 24. A Christmas shopping trip to the Liffey Valley is planned for November 28. The Christmas party dinner is taking place at Kilashee Hotel in Kildare December 4.

The next tea dance is on Sunday, November 19, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Groups must book in advance with the centre 0404 45600. New members welcome why not come along on a Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. and check us out.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

We are still taking bookings for this year’s Christmas Fair on Sunday, December 10. As a customer you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value. WALKING GROUP IN THE BROCKAGH

On Monday mornings weekly at 10 a.m. join the walking group with Get Ireland Walking at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendaloug­h area for approximat­ely one hour. In associatio­n with Get Ireland Walking, Wicklow Local Sports Partnershi­p and Brockagh Resource Centre. All ages and abilities are welcome. PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID COURSE

The course was cancelled on October 16 due to the weather but we have re-scheduled the class and it will go ahead on Monday, November 6, Run by the highly acclaimed ‘Parent First Aid’ company, this popular, informativ­e evening will cover all basic first aid required in the care of children including choking, burns, meningitis, breaks/ fractures, CPR, bleeding and more. FLOWER CLASSES

A series of flower classes are being planned for the autumn at the Brockagh Centre. The sessions can cover everything from basic methods to modern designs for a variety of occasions. The teaching team will facilitate the requiremen­ts of the participan­ts and focus on the natural beauty of the surroundin­g countrysid­e.
