THIS year’s Wicklow Town and District Chamber Business Seminar featured a top line-up of speakers at Tinakilly House in Rathnew.

The programme was targeted directly to benefit small and medium enterprises.

Health Minister Simon Harris addressed the seminar as he spoke about the challenges of Brexit and the importance of developing business in Ireland.

‘Wicklow Chamber has been running this fantastic event for a number of years to help local businesses access information that may help them to develop. I am always delighted to be part of it,’ he said.

‘With the additional pressure of Brexit looming, speakers such as Mick Brougham of Enterprise Ireland and Nick Ashmore of SBCI, and all those who addressed delegates this evening are most welcome.

‘Planning and preparing to the changes that are unfortunately ahead of us is hugely important. The Wicklow business community is certainly looking to the future.

‘The Wicklow Chamber and Forum have some really impressive plans for developing the town including developing a Greenway/Blueway to increase tourism as well as better transport facilities to make the town more commuter friendly. I look forward to working with them further to develop these plans.”

‘I would like to commend and thank everyone involved in the Wicklow Business Information Seminar – evenings like this one are hugely important for our business community in Co Wicklow,’ said Minister Harris.

Other speakers included Dianna Sheridan, Wicklow Town and District Chamber President; Frank Curran, CEO Wicklow County Council; Mick Brougham, Regional Director of Enterprise Ireland; Jennifer O’Brien, Business Coordinator of Astron Engineering; Nick Ashmore, CEO of Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland; Sheelagh Daly, CEO of Wicklow Enterprise Office; and Sandra Quinn, Employer Liaison Officer.
