MACREDDIN GOLF CLUB
We round off a great year in Macreddin with some of our overall competition results.
Fergus Devitt (24) is declared Golfer Of the Year for 2017, a competition that went right down to the wire on the final medal in October.
Bernard Byrne (06) is declared Eclectic Cup winner with a gross for the year of 57 strokes being his combined best scores across all qualifying singles competitions
The final major for the year, the Tombstones Challenge, was won by Michael Clarke(15) (3in from the hole on 18th). The challenge involved getting as far as you can around the course with the par (72) plus your handicap in strokes. Where your last shot lands is where you plant your tombstone.
Congratulations to the Team from Macreddin who won the Wicklow Hospice Cup in Delgany on 13/10/2017, Sean Breen, John O’Byrne, Donald Malcom and Martin Newsome.
