VARIETY CABARET

CHRISTMAS TEA DANCE

Join us at our pre-Christmas tea dance on Sunday, November 19, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cover charge of only €5 with refreshmen­ts provided. All groups must book in advance with the Brockagh Centre by calling us at 0404 45600.

A Beginners Skib Workshop: This workshop is very enjoyable and covers some basic basket making techniques. Dates available are November 11, January 14 and 21.

Reindeer Sculpture Workshop: Participan­ts will build their own reindeer from willow for their garden for Christmas. This Some previous experience in basket making would be beneficial. November 19.

Willow Christmas Tree Workshop: half day workshop. Participan­ts will learn to apply basic weaving techniques to create a conical shaped willow free standing tree. December 2.

Beginners Sciathog Shopping Basket Workshop: Participan­ts will learn to make a small shopping basket on a round or oval frame with a handle. A good beginner’s workshop. December 9.

COURSES FOR 2018 – Intermedia­te Round Shopping Basket Workshop: It is more intense than other workshops and it would require previous experience making baskets. February 3 Scarecrow Building Workshop: this workshop for those of you who are interested in decorating your garden come the Spring with a beautiful willow scarecrow March 24 and 25.

OLDER PERSON’S SEMINAR

The Co.Wicklow Older Person’s Council Seminar 2017, celebratin­g 10 years, takes place on on November 24 in the Glendaloug­h Hotel, registrati­on at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3 p.m. Registrati­on for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individual­s or groups. Forms to be returned to Richella Wood by November 10 either by post or by email to agefriendl­y@wicklowcoc­o.ie. Admission €5 and can be paid on the day. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

TAE KWON-DO

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentrat­ion, channeling aggression, balance, coordinati­on, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Children’s classes are on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. (4-7 years), 6.45 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. (8-12 years).

ADULT GUIDANCE

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

AR next lunch is on November 7 in Glenmalure Lodge. A Christmas shopping trip to the Liffey Valley is planned for November 28. The Christmas party dinner is taking place at Kilashee Hotel in Kildare December 4. We are still taking bookings for this year’s Christmas Fair on Sunday, December 10. As a customer you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value. HAPPY DAYS

Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is on every Wednesday morning 10.30 a.m. to midday at the Brockagh Centre (break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with crafts, Messy Play, music and activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/storytime and of course light refreshmen­ts are provided. A series of flower classes are being planned for the autumn at the Brockagh Centre. The sessions can cover everything from basic methods to modern designs for a variety of occasions. The teaching team will facilitate the requiremen­ts of the partic-
