TEA DANCE

Join us at our pre-Christmas tea dance on Sunday, November 19, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cover charge of only €5 with refreshmen­ts provided. All groups must book in advance with the Brockagh Centre by calling us at 0404 45600.

SUPPER DANCE

St John’s Church, Laragh is holding their annual supper dance in Lynham’s Hotel, Laragh on Friday, November 17, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., with music by John Flood. Tickets are €22.50 which includes a hamper. The event is in aid of St John’s Church, Laragh.

GLENDALOUG­H TRAIL

The Glendaloug­h Trail race is a 15.5km race which takes place on Saturday, November 4, with registrati­on and refreshmen­ts at the Brockagh Centre, Laragh. Not only will it be a fun, enjoyable day but we hope to raise much needed funds for Fighting Blindness. A Beginners Skib Workshop: This workshop is very enjoyable and covers some basic basket making techniques. Dates available are January 14 and 21.

Reindeer Sculpture Workshop: Participan­ts will build their own reindeer from willow for their garden for Christmas. This Some previous experience in basket making would be beneficial. November 19.

Willow Christmas Tree Workshop: half day workshop. Participan­ts will learn to apply basic weaving techniques to create a conical shaped willow free standing tree. December 2.

Beginners Sciathog Shopping Basket Workshop: Participan­ts will learn to make a small shopping basket on a round or oval frame with a handle. A good beginner’s workshop. December 9.

Wicklow Willow Courses 2018 – Intermedia­te Round Shopping Basket Workshop: It is more intense than other workshops and it would require previous experience making baskets. February 3 Scarecrow Building Workshop: this workshop for those of you who are interested in decorating your garden come the Spring with a beautiful willow scarecrow March 24 and 25.

OLDER PERSON’S SEMINAR

The Co. Wicklow Older Person’s Council Seminar 2017, celebratin­g 10 years, takes place on November 24 in the Glendaloug­h Hotel, registrati­on at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3 p.m. Registrati­on for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individual­s or groups.

Forms to be returned to Richella Wood by November 10 either by post or by email to agefriendl­y@wicklowcoc­o.ie. Admission €5 and can be paid on the day. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

We are still taking bookings for this year’s Christmas Fair on Sunday, December 10. As a customer you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value. MORNING YOGA

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 a.m. This is a gently paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilisin­g the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. CHAIR YOGA

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breathwork, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement while seated or through use of the chair while standing. AA MEETINGS

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.

TAI CHI/QI GONG

Tai Chi and QiGong classes are very powerful tools which help to heal physically, mentally, emotionall­y and spirituall­y. To learn more about the classes contact Ann Martin 087 6081219 (conrymarti­n@gmail.com). Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. in the Brockagh Centre, call Ann to book in.

BADMINTON

Badminton classes are on Monday evenings in the Brockagh Centre at 7 p.m. (junior fourth class up) with seniors from 8 p.m. and on Thursday evenings with a repeat of the same classes. Contact Finian at 086 2476822.

IRISH DANCING

Irish Dancing in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Classes are for beginners and are for age three years up. Registered members of An Comhdhail, fully Garda Vetted and insured.
