Loreto Secondary School Bray and Presentation College Bray return with their production of High School Musical, the tale of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez – two totally different teenagers who meet at a party while singing karaoke on New Year’s Eve. One week later Troy goes back to his high school, East High in new mexico to find that Gabriella is a new student there. Tickets, which are available from the Mermaid Arts Centre, cost €17 or €60 for a family (two adults and two children).
CONNECTIONS Whale Theatre, Greystones

Greystones Players present ‘Connections’ – a diverse and entertaining evening of four one-act plays, exploring variations on love, relationships and our expectations of theatre. The programme includes While the Auto Waits, adapted from O. Henry’s short story by Walter Wykes; Sure Thing by David Ives; the amusing and poignant Post-Its by Paul Dooley and Winnie Holzman; and Audience, Michael Frayn’s clever and comic examination of the nature of theatre. In this tribute to Hendrix, the band perform Jimi’s songs note-for-note, paying homage to his gargantuan and visionary song-writing. The show performance is interspersed with short anecdotes about Jimi and stories of the songs, to cast the mind back to the time of his life. The band have a solid old-school approach and deliver a real analogue sound of the 60’s. Tickets are €10-€12.
BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE PENSIONER Courthouse Arts Centre

Neil Delamere tells the story of how his dad once asked him to help deliver the Meals on Wheels. He agreed, little knowing that their lives would never be the same again... except the bits of their lives that didn’t change. Tickets cost €22 and are available from the Courthouse.
SONGS FOR SYRIA GALA CONCERT St Patrick’s Church, Wicklow town 7.30 p.m. on Sunday, November 26
Wicklow Syria Appeal host this special evening of song, directed by Tony Norton. Primary schools choirs from Wicklow town, the Inver Ladies Choir, the Celia Community Choir, the Wicklow Community Choir, the Avoca Valley Singers and Lorna Breen will all perform. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets cost €10 or €20 for a family.

Presented by Brokentalkers in association with Project Arts Centre, This Beach is a blistering satire of white western privilege made in response to the global refugee crisis. A private beach inhabited by a family; a European family. They are the owners of the beach. The beach has been in their family for generations. The family celebrate a wedding, a union between two sides; each of whom can offer something to the other. Security, prosperity, progeny. During the wedding celebration a stranger arrives on the shore of their beach. The family must decide how to deal with this stranger. Tickets cost €16 and are available from the Mermaid.
