YOU BOYS ROCKED!

- By DEBORAH COLEMAN

X FACTOR stars and Blessington boys Seán and Conor Price returned to their home town to a rapturous welcome from the local community.

Following a successful stint on the holy grail of television talent shows, the brothers, who are aged 17 and 15 respectively, said they were overwhelmed at the wonderful welcome they received on their return to west Wicklow.

‘We got back from the airport and we couldn’t believe the massive turnout. There were thousands of people there, many who we pass on the street every week who were out cheering us on and supporting us. I was unbelievable,’ they said.

And it wasn’t just Wicklow that was cheering on Seán and Conor but rather the entire country.

‘We were the only Irish act to make it through to the live shows this year and we were really honoured to be representing our coun- try. Everyone was so encouraging and supportive and we got so much goodwill. We had such a great time and exceeded our own expectations in the competition. We also had so much support from our family.’

While the duo are best known at home for their regular busking performances on Grafton Street, a whole new world has now been opened up to them.

‘It was such a massive step up from busking. The crowd of hundreds in the studio and there were millions tuning in at home. It was completely different but showed us what life could be like if things go the right way.’

While Seán and Conor are now back at school in Naas CBS studying for their Leaving and Junior Certificate exams, they have their eyes firmly on a career in music.

‘Being on The X Factor confirmed for us that we want a career in music. It’s what we want to do in the future and we are really looking forward to seeing where we go from here.’

However, with their heads firmly screwed on and remaining tightlipped on any potential record deal offers, the Price brothers won’t be making any rash decisions just yet.

‘We are just going to take some time and see what happens. We haven’t made any decisions yet but hopefully the right opportunity comes along.’
