The under-12s travelled to Arklow on Sunday morning to face Arklow Town but sadly lost their semi-final 4-0 Glen’s. The Glens were poor in the first half but rallied and were a lot better in the second period but Arklow deserved their win. The Glens had beat this team a few weeks ago 2-1 but Sunday wasn’t their day. However, this is their first defeat this year in their age group and the kids will learn its not all about winning, you have to fight hard throughout the whole season. The Astro pitch made it harder on Sunday when you’re not used to playing on it but well-done Glen’s.

The under-14s put in a really brave show on Saturday before suffering heartache in their shield semi-final away to Greystones. Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, the Glens rallied back to win the away leg 2-1 after trailing 1-0 and force extra time, the goals coming from Aaron Killick and Dylan Henry. The first period was a tight affair but then the Glens conceded a goal from a corner and as they pushed forward for an equaliser, were caught out twice more to lose the tie 6-3 on aggregate. Manager Karl Bradshaw was however not to disheartened as his team showed great spirit to force their way back into the tie in normal time.

The seniors faced Ashford Rovers B at home on Sunday in the first Round of the Wicklow Cup and won 4-1. Sam O’Callaghan hit the first with Simon Doyle adding a second and then a super header from Nathan Waters made it 3-0 before Ashford pulled one back and it was 3-1 at the break. The second half was a tighter affair but Nathan sealed the win with another great finish. Its back to league action this Sunday morning as the Glens return to league action against Knockmitten and hopefully stay at the top of the table going into Christmas.
