MUSICAL

Huge congratulations to all involved in the super production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Transition year students put on a fabulous show. They performed two matinees on Wednesday and Thursday the 14th and 15th to the local primary schools and had full houses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The students have been rehearsing for this production since early August and their hard work really paid off with their fantastic performances.

Belle was superbly played by Kate Keaney and the Beast was played fabulously by Emily Bateman. Other parts played were as follows: Maurice – Maya Flynn, Gaston – Laura Burke, LeFou – Caoimhe O’Neill, Lumiere – Melrique Smith, Mrs Potts – Hannah Gormley, Cogsworth – Emma Coffey and Babette was played by Lucy Farrell. Well done to all who had parts and played them so well.

SIXTH YEAR GAEILGE

Tráthnóna Máirt, an 12 Nollaig, tháinig Caith Amach É! isteach chun ceardlann a dhéanamh le muintir na Séú bliain don scrúdú cainte. Dhírigh siad ar na sraith pictiúir agus bhain gach duine, daltaí agus múinteoirí araon, sult as an spraoi a bhí ann. Ach I dteannta an spraoi, bhí comhairle ciallmhar agus tábhachtach acu chun cabhrú leis na daltaí sa scrúdú. Tráthnóna fiúntach gan amhras.

On Tuesday afternoon, 12th December, the company Caith Amach É! came in to the school to do a workshop with the 6th Yr students in preparation for the Oral exam. They focused on the Picture Sequence section of the exam and everyone, both students and teachers, enjoyed the fun! But along with the fun, they had plenty of sensible and important advice to help students in the exam. A worthwhile afternoon without a doubt.
