Dazzling performance
THE talented cast of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ performed in front of a packed house over four days and nights in Dominican College Wicklow.
Transition year students put on two matinees on Wednesday and Thursday attended by primary schoolchildren from local schools, and also had full houses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
The students had been hard-at-work rehearsing for this production since early August and all their endeavours really paid off with fantastic performances for each production.
Belle was superbly played by Kate Keaney and the Beast was played fabulously by Emily Bateman. Other important roles included Maurice played by Maya Flynn, Gaston by Laura Burke, LeFou by Caoimhe O’Neill and Lumiere portrayed by Melrique Smith.
Other parts saw Hannah Gormley take on the role of Mrs Potts, Emma Coffey making a convincing Cogsworth and Lucy Farrell playing Babette.
Huge congratulations also goes to the rest of the Transition Year group involved either as cast members or as part of the crew and production team. Musical director for the production was Phillip O’Neill
Ann McIntyre took on dual responsibilities as Producer and Choreographer.
Each performance was met by a standing ovation as months of hard work and rehearsing all paid off.
