FOLLOWING THE LEADERS AHEAD OF RACE DAY ON MARCH 25

-

‘PASSION is a step further than excitement or enthusiasm. Passion is a drive that exudes dedication and constant momentum towards achieving a goal in your life. It is within all of us but some consider it ‘ lost’ because they haven’t engaged it.

Everyday responsibilities might be paramount, but unless you decide to change things, nothing will change. The big question is: how? How do you bring more passion into your life? Firstly, look at the clues life gives you. Look back at a time when you felt you were living a fuller life. What were you doing? What was inspiring you at that time? Take some quiet time and look back over all the things you enjoy doing, past and present.

Think about the things that you always yearned to do but never did. Is the flame still burning? If it is, then get up and do it. Yes, we all have responsibilities and jobs that must be done, but most of us have untapped passions we’re just not getting around to. It’s the easiest thing in the world to find reasons not to do something. The truth is that there will never be a perfect time to try, so why not now? Look around and see what interests you. Look around and see what annoys you! What repels you? What draws you? Either can fire your passion. Do you feel something lighting you up? Nurture it and give it a go. Bring back your innate childhood curiosity. Bring back your sense of adventure. If you are already a runner, take a trip to a new park or hillside. Give that familiar loop or the ‘out and back’ run you usually do a break. Our passion is like a fire – it needs to be kindled and stoked.’
