Badweatherleads tocancellations

A NUMBER of events across Wicklow have been cancelled as a result of the weather.

This week’s Allianz Coughlan Cup games in Bray Emmets which were due to take place yesterday (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) have been cancelled because of snow and sub zero temperatures forecast. A spokesperson for the organisers said that Gary McGillycuddy, Oifigeach Peile will be in contact regarding rescheduling.

The Ashford Tidy Towns AGM planned for today ( Wednesday) is postponed until Tuesday, March 6, due to impending poor weather conditions.

Roundwood & District Historical & Folklore Society also rescheduled its AGM to Tuesday, March 6, at 8 p.m. in Roundwood Parish Hall due to poor weather conditions.

The Wicklow and District Lions quiz night due to take place tonight, Wednesday February 28, at Wicklow Golf Club has been cancelled.

The event will instead take place on March 14 in the same venue. The main beneficiaries will be Nolan House, Educate Together, Nuns Cross NS and Ashford Beekeepers.

The selection convention for the Labour Party which had been due to take place tomorrow (Thursday) night has been cancelled. The convention will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.

The monthly meeting of Greystones Municipal District which had been due to take place last night (Tuesday) was cancelled yesterday and has been re-scheduled for Tuesday next, March 6, at 6.30 p.m. in the Civic Offices, Mill Road, Greystones.

In Baltinglass the official launch of the Heritage Plan and the Tourism brochures due to take place yesterday (Tuesday) was cancelled and re-scheduled for March 13.
