Wicklow Sings choral festival seeks entrants

-

Choirs are invited to take part in the Wicklow Sings Choral Festival 2018.

The festival returns this year on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 and will be hosted by Temple Carrig School in Greystones.

The festival, which is in its third year, is an amazing event, providing an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of choirs based in County Wicklow, and a platform for choirs to showcase their talent to a public audience.

Hundreds of singers and listeners have enjoyed choral music at the Temple Carrig auditorium over the past years and this year’s event will be even bigger. Last year, choirs from Greystones, Bray Wicklow town and throughout the county all participated, with more than 300 voices involved. This year the festival has been expanded into a two night event.

Friday night will be a concert for Wicklow school choirs (a new addition to the festival), and Saturday night will be a showcase concert for all other choirs.

Wicklow-based choirs are now being invited to submit an expression of interest if they are interested in performing at the Saturday concert. All types of choirs are welcome from gospel to community choirs to barbershop, acapella groups, choral societies, and more.

If your choir is interested in getting involved, email wicklowsings@gmail.com for further information.

The closing date for entries is Monday, March 5 at 5 p.m.
