JUNIOR GAA CUP FINAL

Well done to the Junior GAA team for making it to the final against Baltinglass in Ballinakill on Wednesday, February 21. The girls played really well as a team but unfortunately lost. Thanks to the girls and to their coach Ms Fox for getting so far in the competition.

RECYCLING

A big thank you to all the families who brought in clothes for the ‘Parent’s Recycling Fundraiser’. There was an increase from last year in the volumes donated and the school really appreciates the effort. Thank you to the parents’ association for all the organisation and hard work.

JUNK KOUTURE

Congratulations to Ms Horan and her TY art class with their ‘Junk Kouture’ entries. Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture is a national contest which encourages young designers in second level education to create striking couture designs and impressive works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin.

The DCW ‘Tribal to the Cork’ entry got through to the Eastern regional semi-finals. Well done to the girls involved: Zara Hitchen and Chloe Hobbs, who designed the outfit and Charlotte Wallice, who modelled it.

The students must now choreograph a performance to showcase their outfit on the catwalk in the eastern regional semi-final. The model has 60 seconds to impress the judging panel on the catwalk and if successful she will be one of the 20 designs progressing to the glamorous grand final on April 19 held in the 3Arena, Dublin. Congratulations to all and best of luck to the girls in the next stage of the competition.
