WICKLOW Local Enterprise Office has designed a workshop training course for anyone interested in carrying out a Micro Lean Project in 2018.

Lean is about being effective and efficient – doing things quicker, better, cheaper. Lean strives to stamp out waste and to continually improve.

Lean tools and techniques are helping companies across the globe to address competitiveness issues within their businesses, building the capability of their people to identify issues and improve their operations, increasing capacity as they improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The introduction to ‘Lean Business Excellence’ takes place at Wicklow County Campus from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.

The trainer will be John McDonald and Deirdre Smith of Redefine Consulting Ltd and the workshop will be suitable for SME business owners and managers, continuous improvement facilitators, and change managers of Wicklow based businesses that have been trading for more than 18 months approximately.

The course costs €10 and will give participants an opportunity to understand the applications of Lean principles in SMEs and to learn about some of the tools involved.
