Boil water notice lifted

-

A BOIL WATER notice put in place for the Aughrim Annacurra public water supply was lifted last Wednesday, March 7.

The notice, which affected some 1,900 people, came into effect on Thursday, March 1, as a precautionary measure following the mechanical failure of the chlorine dosing pumps on site.

‘Following consultation with the HSE, Irish Water and Wicklow County Council confirm that the Boil Water Notice that was in place on the Aughrim Annacurra Public Water Supply has been lifted. The mechanical failure of the chlorine dosing pumps has been resolved and the water supply is safe to drink,’ said an Irish Water spokesperson.

‘ The water supply is compliant with drinking water regulations and normal use of the supply can resume for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.’
