Great day of fun and games in Coolboy!

-

COOLBOY HANDBALL CLUB held a very successful 5k Family Fun Walk/Run on Saturday last, followed by an Open Day and the finals of the handball tournament held at the local court.

In the handball tournament, Michael Lennon and Martin O’Neill beat John Rodgers and Keith Kavanagh while David Mulhall and Tony ‘The Turbo’ Donoghue defeated John Wafer and Joe Stafford in the final, 63 to 35.

It was great to see the lads back playing handball in the area, and the tournament was a treat and well run by James Gregan.

All those in attendance enjoyed the action and a similar tournament wil be happening again around Christmas time.

“The walk was a great success,” said organiser Michael Gregan. “We raised just under €500 on the day and more sponsorship cards to come in.

“And just say the handball court is there for anyone to use, it’s there for meetings, there is a small gym upstairs, fitness classes, racquetball and handball. Everyone is welcome,” he added.
