Smullen appointed as GAA treasurer

-

WICKLOW GAA unveiled Alan Smullen as their new treasurer at Monday night’s County Board meeting.

Smullen, who hails from the St Pat’s GAA Club, fills the role that has been vacant since the County Convention last year.

Wicklow County Chairman Martin Fitzgerald said that he was delighted to announce that Alan Smullen had agreed to take the job of county treasurer, a position vacated by Colm Finnegan last year.

Alan Smullen was also involved in the selection process for the Wicklow Senior football manager.

St Pat’s Chairman John Gill said that the choice of Alan Smullen for the job was a great one and that it was great to see a local wicklow man in the position.

Gill joked that it was a great thing to see so many St Pat’s men up at the top table.

Interestingly, Smullen’s apointment makes it five St Pat’s representatives on the County Board.
