PETER WAS LAST SEEN AT HIS HOME ON APRIL 2, 2017

- By MARY FOGARTY

FRIENDS of missing Greystones man Peter Scully spoke about his disappearance on RTÉ’s Crimecall on Monday night.

Peter was 48-years-old when he went missing. He was last seen at his home in Fairfield Park, Greystones, on April 2, 2017.

Almost a year has passed and Dernaun, a friend since they were teenagers, is still in shock,

‘It’s so out of character. You could set your time by Peter, you’d know where he was nearly any stage of the day,’ Dernaun said.

Peter worked in maintenance at Carrickmines Industrial Es- tate. He spent a lot of time looking after his ailing mother.

‘He doted on his mother,’ said Dernaun. ‘He was up with her every day.’

Since his disappearance the effect on her has been devastating

‘His mother’s life has just stopped,’ said Kenny, his friend of 20 years. ‘Every time I go into the house she is just crying.’

A quiet man, Peter kept to himself but was well known and liked in the Greystones area. He loved the outdoors, especially hill walking.

‘We used to walk from Greystones, along the cliff walk to Bray and back on a regular basis.’ Kenny said.

Despite extensive searches by gardaí, there is still no sign of Peter. Dernaun tried to express just how difficult the past year has been.

‘It’s horrible, it’s a mystery,’ he said. ‘We just want to find him.’

He made a heartfelt plea directly to his friend: ‘If you’re out there Peter and you’re watching this, just come home. So many people love you.’

Gardaí are appealing directly to anyone who may know what happened to Peter.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimecall on 1800 405060 or Greystones Garda Station on 01 6665800.
