Hollywood take spoils against Kilbride/Lacken

HOLLYWOOD KILBRIDE/LACKEN 2-07 0-09

HOLLYWOOD took the spoils at home in glorious sunshine after a hard-fought battle with newly amalgamate­d Kildride/Lacken on Sunday morning last.

Keith Peppard opened the scoring with a point and followed up with a converted penalty for a dream start for the home side,

Tom McKeown landed a brace of points to get the visitors off the mark.

Hollywood added another three points from James Mooney, Paul and Thomas Kelly before Tom McKeown and Gerry Phibbs each pointed to close out the opening half with the score reading 1-04 to 0-04 for the home side.

Gerry Phibbs reduced the deficit to two,with a point before Thomas Kelly replied with a smashing point.

Goalkeeper Conor O’Toole landed a monster of a point from a 45. McKeown and a Conor Dillon each pointed to level the match in the 50th minute as the visitors rallied.

Ross Tyrell restored the lead when he was in like a light to finish a breaking ball to the net for the home side.

A Jack Cullen pointed free left four in it going into injury time. Gerry Phibbs pointed, however Dean Burke tapped over the final point for Hollywood, as the full time whistle sounded.
